Congratulations to our CHC stalwart John (JB/Jack) Blayney on his award of the Australia Police Medal in the 2012 Australia Day Honour list.

AUSTRALIAN POLICE MEDAL (APM)
Superintendent John Joseph BLAYNEY, Vic
Superintendent Blayney is an extremely competent and professional officer who has worked tirelessly during his extensive career with Victoria Police. Following several years as an investigator with the Drug Squad and Licensing and Vice Unit, he made a significant contribution to a number of major corporate change management and restructure projects. These projects include Project Arbiter to realign policing boundaries, Project Clarendon to establish Victoria-wide crime desks in response to high volume crime, and the Major Crime Management Model which has revolutionised Major Crime Investigations. In recent years Superintendent Blayney has managed one of the most difficult and complex police divisions incorporating the Hume, Moonee Valley and Moreland local government areas. He has provided community leadership in the challenging issues of multicultural conflict and domestic violence reform, and has formed and maintained strong relationships with the community, key stakeholders, his peers and other members and staff. Superintendent Blayney is also recognised for the outstanding skills and personal attributes that he has brought to his role as Acting Assistant Commissioner and Acting Chief of Staff.
