Season 2010 saw the formation of our long awaited Coterie. Supporters are now able to become part of our official group “The Wellers”.
Our coterie consists of past and present Club members who have a real interest in ensuring that CHC remains pre-eminent in Australian and Victorian hockey.
Past members
For those past members who have not had much contact or involvement with CHC for some time, it offers an opportunity to renew your association with the Club and to catch up with others of your playing era. As a member of The Wellers, you will be able to relive and celebrate again past glories whilst being actively involved in current and future successes.
All members
Your involvement will ensure that the past hard work to make CHC the club it is today is not wasted and, both on and off the field, we remain the envied club of Victorian hockey. One way of achieving this is to improve/refurbish our current facilities at Matlock Park for both playing and non-playing members.
Immediate past projects
In 2009 CHC became a partner in the hockey ground built at Koonung Secondary College, Elgar Road, Box Hill. Our contribution to this facility was the cost of the installation of lights – over $100,000. Our past fundraising efforts enabled us to make this contribution to securing use of Koonung as our second ground. This has relieved some of the training and match day stress at Matlock.
In 2010, the construction of our new spectator viewing deck in front of the clubrooms was our main project.
Current project
In 2011, funds raised via The Wellers are being directed towards the replacement of the playing surface at Matlock Park (successfully re-launched on 2 July 2011).
The Wellers coterie will be making a substantial and vital contribution to the future of the Club. We hope that you will support the Club by joining The Wellers. ASF donations of $250 or more will be recognised with membership to The Wellers coterie group for a calendar year.
